Team Leader – Befriending Service for parents/carers with children with Special Educational Needs and/or Disability.

Citizens Advice Waltham Forest has an exciting opportunity to develop and expand a volunteer befriending service which aims to support and empower parents/carers of children with special educational needs and/or disability. The project will create volunteer opportunities for and from the community, as well as provide the vital support that is often required by parents/carers using a person centered approach.

The successful applicant will have strong organisational and project management skills with experience of recruiting, training and supervising volunteers. They will have awareness of the challenges involved with delivering a volunteer programme and be well equipped to support and inspire volunteers from a wide range of backgrounds. The post holder will also be required to develop positive working relationships with key stakeholders.

Reports to: Quality, network and specialist projects coordinator

Responsible for: Befriending volunteers and Befriending Administrative Officer

Hours: 0.8 FTE (4 days)

Salary: £33,895.36 per annum pro rata
